Here at ACR, we pride ourselves on combining 3 types of curriculums to create the most well-rounded Christian learning environment for our children. Those 3 curriculums are, Learning Beyond Paper, an online curriculum which follows Texas TEKS; Abeka, with a workbook based Christian curriculum and finally; our own Christian curriculum developed through our Executive Director. Many schools will do one or the other, but we believe by combining all 3, we are offering a curriculum that places all of our students at a higher, well-rounded advantage when entering elementary school. We believe not only in preparing children with a hands-on approach to academics, but also in developing their character values and a love for Christ. Below is a description of our unique curriculum design:

LBP Curriculum includes 52 weeks of lesson plans and over 4,000 daily activities starting with infants. Teachers can select learning topics and activities and navigate between age groups instantly. Each activity can be differentiated to meet the individual child’s learning level and goals.

LBP supports teachers 100 percent of the time, from new teachers to very experienced teachers. LBP Keeps teachers focused on teaching and the children instead of creating extra work for the teachers. LBP takes away all of the extra books, papers and forms that many curriculums use and keeps everything right at the teacher’s fingertips on their tablets. Parents will have a daily, first-hand look at everything their child is doing in the classroom through LBP’s partnership with Procare!

Teachers are the facilitators in each child’s learning journey. Through intentional interactions, language-rich experiences, and well-planned activities, children will develop the skill necessary to become successful, life-long learners.

LBP’s developmentally appropriate activities integrate early learning standards such as physical development, social-emotional skills, early mathematics, and language and literacy development. Children will develop problem-solving skills through trial and error, questioning and exploration.

LBP’s innovative curriculum will develop technology-literate learners with a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) in every daily activity.

LBP Assessments and Milestones Tool: This helps teachers observe and plan for individual children right from the tablet. The teachers can also share these assessments and milestones with the child’s family. The assessment structure is based on Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

A Christian foundation and Christian values are the most important part of our Curriculum here at ACR. Our Executive Director works hard alongside each of our teachers and management staff to make sure Jesus has his touch every day in the classrooms and in the school. Character values, life lessons, education, and even discipline are easily learned in the stories of the Bible. Through play, music, puppets, felt boards, stories, books and Bible time, the children are engaged in a love of learning about Christ.

Chapel: Every Friday, Ms. Abby (Brookhaven Church’s Children’s Ministry Leader) puts a fun chapel lesson together for the whole school. Every classroom including the infants gets to join in on worship in Brookhaven’s sanctuary. They enjoy a video lesson on the giant TV, a personal lesson from our Youth Pastor and then lots of praising, singing and dancing to worship songs. It is most definitely everyone’s favorite time of the week!

Abeka: Abeka as a Christian based curriculum that uses, lessons, videos, workbooks and visual aids.

It has lesson plans that break each lesson down to manageable steps. Its content is guided by the unfailing compass of God’s Word. Abeka includes visually stimulating textbooks and visual aids for preschool-12th grade. There are digital products to engage students and teacher editions with ideas to guide the classroom in discussions. Students taught with Abeka have been accepted into prestigious colleges and gone on to serve the Lord in a variety of rewarding careers.

Abeka Biblical Content: Abeka is a teacher-led, character-building philosophy that comes from the biblical foundation-Proverbs 22:6a “Train up a child in the way he should go.” Teachers will lead students on their Christian academic journey. There is structure and organization that helps students know what to expect of them. In history, you see God’s hand. In science, you see His design. In grammar, you see His order. Every subject is approached from a Christian perspective, and you’ll find Scripture and biblical principles used to emphasize or illustrate concepts.

Combining LPB and our Christian Curriculum, including Abeka, ACR has found the perfect formula to set the foundation of learning, education, love for Christ and character values that will guide your child throughout their life.
